Hockey Picks Tuesday FEB 14th

Tuesday NHL Picks

There are nice games in the NHL today including a few interesting matchups. Due to recent injuries around the league and the NHL trade deadline quickly approaching, I think there are a few teams and player props worth betting on.

Florida ML (-140)

Panthers at Blues

Yes, the Panthers are playing a back-to-back game against a rested Blue squad, but there is still value in this pick. Florida has the league’s 2nd best power play and faceoff against the league’s 2nd worst. The Blues are 3-7 in their last ten games and will have Jordan Binnington (3.31 GAA) between the pipes.

Tampa Bay ML (-125)

Lighting at Avalanche

The Bolts just beat the Avalanche 5-0 last Thursday in Tampa, but now play the rematch in Colorado. I expect a closer game, but without Cale Makar the Lightning look to continue their winning streak on the road. Lightning Goalie, Andrei Vasilevskiy, has looked incredible in his last two starts.

Kraken +115

Seattle at Winnipeg

On Tuesday night, the Seattle Kraken will play the Winnipeg Jets as part of their ongoing road trip. After Tuesday’s 4-3 victory over Philadelphia, which snapped a three-game losing streak, Seattle will have thirty victories on the year. For Seattle, Philipp Grubauer was solid in goal against Philadelphia, stopping 18 of 21 shots (.833 save percentage) to earn the win. The Seattle attack was spearheaded by Jaden Schwartz, who scored two goals in less than 15 minutes, and Jordan Eberle, who scored once and provided an assist.

Teuvo Teravainen

Prop: Over 2 Shots

Teravainen has been moved around in the last few weeks. He’s penciled in to start on the first line but has been tested on the 2nd and 3rd line in recent weeks. He does play on the power play which is key to hitting the over, however, the Capitals are a stingy team and don’t take a lot of penalties. The reason I like him is Teravainen is coming off back to back 3 shot games, one of which he scored in. In fact, he’s had 3 shots in 3 of his last 4 games.

Aaron Ekblad

Prop: Over 3 Shots

Ekblad has been shooting like crazy lately, he has 16 shots in his last 3 games and had over 3 shots in 8 of his last 9 games. This prop feels off, with his current average I feel it should be set at 3.5 maybe even 4. As I mentioned at the top, the Panthers have a great power play and face off against one of the worst PK units in the league. Ekblad is the quarterback on the first power play line for the Panthers

David Pastrnak

Prop: Over 4 Shots

The Bruins have been in a slump as of late. They are 1-4 in their last four games. However, the team is coming off three days of rest and Pastrnak shoots more than anyone else in the league. The Stars play tight defense and the team doesn’t allow a lot of shots on net, but I feel like Pastrnak and company want to get back to being the league’s best team and out of this losing funk behind them.
