The NHL trade deadline has been more active this year than in years past with dozens of players changing jersey colors. While the focus may have been on player movement today, there are five games on the hockey slate. Let’s get into some NHL betting tips.

Jaden Schwartz Over 2.5 Shots
Blue Jackets at Kraken
Seattle is not considered an offensive juggernaut. They play great defense and rely on all four lines to get the job done. That being said, the Blue Jackets are the 3rd worst team for shots allowed. They see an average of 35 shots a game and Schwartz holds a 7.5 shooting percent share on the team. Meaning he’s projected to see 2.6 shots in this game. But considering he’s been shooting a lot of more lately, I like the over.
Patrik Laine Under 3 shots
Blue Jackets at Kraken
Most sportsbooks will have this line at 2.5, but Underdog Fantasy has Laine under 3. Meaning he needs 4 shots for you to lose. Laine is averaging 0.67 shots in his last three games, and 1.2 shots in his last 5 games. The Seattle Kraken ranks 3rd in the NHL for shots allowed. Laine does play better on the road and holds an 11% shooting share for the team, but I’m taking the under.
McDavid to Score a Goal
Jets at Oilers
McDavid is on a five-game goal-scoring streak. Both teams are fighting for a playoff spot, so it’s hard to go against the best player in the league at home while on a hot streak. Don’t overthink it.
