The countdown to the playoffs has begun. There are teams fighting for every point, teams comfortably in the lead, and bottom feeders trying to tank. Tonight there are only three games on the slate, with only one with NHL playoff ramifications.
- Blackhawks at Red Wings 7:30 ET
- Wild at Jets 7:30 ET
- Ducks at Nucks 7:30 ET
Canucks -1.5
Anaheim vs. Vancouver
Despite the Canucks terrible season in which they’ve done everything completely wrong, from making trades to tanking for the top pick, they should win tonight at home. The Ducks just played last night in Seattle and are projected to start Lukas Dostal, who is 3-5-1 with a GAA of 4.00.
The Cancuks will have Demko in the net tonight. This will be his fourth start since returning from injury. Demko has 2 wins in his three starts in 2023, and looks to stay red-hot against a very young Ducks squad.
Betting Trends: Canucks are 4-1 in their last 5 games playing on 1 day’s rest. Also, the Ducks are 1-9 in their last 10 games playing on 0 days’ rest.
Anthony Beauvillier o2.5 Shots
Anaheim vs. Vancouver
Beauvillier has taken at least two shots in 13 of Vancouver’s 15 games and has had three or more five times. With the Canucks averaging 29.1 shots on goal in those 15 games, Beauvillier’s 7.77% shooting rate is safe given the ice time he’s receiving. If he keeps up that pace, the Over will be hit if Vancouver gets 40 shots, the Ducks’ season-long road average.
Kirill Kaprizov o3.5 Shots
Minnesota at Winnipeg
The Wild are coming off a game in which they were held without a goal and may bring a shot-first mentality to Winnipeg. There, they will face a struggling goaltender in Connor Hellebuyck, who has allowed 19 goals in his last four starts and has been pulled in two of those contests. The Wild have been held without a goal in each of their last two games. Since December, Kaprizov hasn’t gone more than three games without scoring. Over his past 15, he’s averaging 4.3 shots on goal, and over the last 10, he’s 7-3 when betting on the over. There are several books that are only 160 pages long.
